The new beginning of an old journey...

As most of you (or at least my friends) have known, I have always had a passion for music and sound systems, and over the many many years since I was a young boy, I have managed to learn several different instruments. I began dj-ing and live sound long before picking up any other instruments and it has always been a bitter sweet memory for me about my dj-ing life almost 5 years ago, where I've met alot of good people who supported and pushed me to improve myself as well as some whom later revealed their not so nice side of them. Since my hiatus from the art of mixing, I have than pursued to further my knowledge in other instruments such as guitar, drums and the bass.

After going a long circle, I've finally returned to the dance music scene. Much has changed since than, as the usage of vinyls are close to extinction and CDs have become optional when playing in a club. Now mixing has become much more convenient as mixers have tons of built in effects and CDJs (or DVJs) can now play videos! We can even integrate our computer software to our mixers and turntables which leads to the unnecessariness of burning those hundreds of CDs and carrying those heavy CD bags to gigs.

Lots of things has changed, but it's only got me steaming for more! In my pursuit to further my musical knowledge, I will continue to press on to further improve myself both as a musician and a performer!

Being a somewhat "psychology" junkie! I do enjoy understanding people and the consequences of actions and reactions. Today I did another two personality tests from two different sites (SimilarMinds.com and Goddessflight), which both came out with different results on my personality! The first was bearable as the results showed me to be an ENTP (The Inventor), the other showed me a whole opposite of what I would have expected myself to be ISTP. These two are very different results and explanation from the initial ENFP which I was so proud of, ironically, when you read the explanation of these personality types, they do SOMEWHAT reflect on the type of person that you are. To conclude, I guess people's personality really does vary to the mood their in and the situations that their going through as well as the environment that surrounds them. People act differently in different situations, we can see this by the structure of the questions asked in these different personality quizzes. So don't limit yourself to just one personality type, just be proud of who you are and be yourself!

For the fun of it, I'm gonna list down the details on ENTP and ISTP below! Enjoy!

Optimistic Thinking vs Positive Thinking

I'd like to believe that I'm an optimistic person. Often when asked to describe myself, I would proudly list optimism as one of my traits. In an interesting early morning conversation with a distant friend, we came across the topic on the differences between optimistic thinking and positive thinking. She was debating that the two are the same, and I on the other hand believed (or would like to believe) that there were differences between the two.

Hence, I sought the help of my good friend Google, and made a search. An interesting read from CoachKip described the difference between positive thinking and optimistic in simple terms.

Positive Thinking

With positive thinking people say only good things. They always look to find the positive meaning in something. They go out convincing themselves that if they think positively then good things will happen. Thinking positively usually has people saying it out loud “the economy is down but there is only one way for it to go.” Positive thinkers often times come on too strong and it puts people off, and pushes them away.

Optimistic Thinkers

With optimistic thinking people they only feel good things. Everything always has a good side to the optimistic thinker. No one can ever convince an optimistic thinker that something is negative once the optimistic thinker has made up their mind. Optimistic thinkers tend to keep their thoughts to themselves, there is no need for them to tell anyone that they are optimistic, people just know. People tend to follow optimistic thinkers, and optimistic thinkers tend to attract more people to them.

EPF Clarifies Chain Email On Nomination Of Age 55 Members

There has been a circulation of chain mail regarding EPF members whom have turned 55 have to renominate their beneficiary. Just like most chain mails, this is just SPAM!

In response to this mail, the GM of public relations released a statement on the KWSP website that only members who have made an age 55 withdrawal before the 1st February 2008 needs to perform a renomination of their beneficiary and for members whom have made their age 55 withdrawal after the stated date remains valid.

Do your research before forwarding chain mails to avoid unnecessary panic.

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) would like to stress that the nomination of EPF members who have reached the age of 55 remains valid. This clarification comes in response to the recent chain email that claimed nominations of EPF members who have turned 55 are void and that they have to renominate.

We would like to clarify that an EPF member only has to renominate his or her beneficiary upon turning 55 years of age if he or she had made an Age 55 Withdrawa l before 1 February 2008. Therefore, if this member were to continue to contribute to the EPF, he or she would need to make a new nomination.

For EPF members who have made Age 55 Withdrawal after 1 February 2008, their nomination continues to be valid unless a new nomination is made to replace the earlier one. This also applies to members who are 55 years of age but have not made the said withdrawal.

We hope that this statement will put to rest any confusion regarding this issue. The EPF wishes to assure its members that their nomination is safe and secure.

Insufficient Memory?

Here's another way of clearing up your phone's memory!

Over time our phones stores up large amounts of data in their internal memory which causes lagging and other problems like insufficient memory space which limits the phone's ability to carry out certain tasks. I've written a guide before this on certain methods on how to clear up some space but apparently it hasn't been enough. Through numerous feedback from some of the readers and friends, I proudly bring to you new methods of creating more space!

#1 - Clearing up your FACEBOOK!

1. Click "Menu" - Go to "Settings"

2. Click on "Applications"

3. Click on "Manage Applications"

4. In the tab on top of the screen, click on "All"

5. Look for "Facebook" (if you have the application) - mine is currently storing 11.50MB
6. Open it and click "Clear Data"

7. A screen will appear saying "All of this applications data will be deleted permanently..." (you will probably have to log in again when you access your application)

8. Alternatively you could just click "Clear cache" which will save you less space but maintain certain data.

9. Wah-La! My application memory has gone down to 5.09MB

#2 - Clearing up your FACEBOOK for HTC Sense!

1. Click "Menu" - Go to "Settings"

2. Click on "Applications"

3. Click on "Manage Applications"

4. In the tab on top of the screen, click on "All"

5. Look for "Facebook for HTC Sense"
6. Open it and click "Clear Data"

7. A screen will appear saying "All of this applications data will be deleted permanently..."

8. And your done!

#3 - You could repeat it for your internet browsers as well which will clear up your history and saved passwords etc.

I can't advice on this because I personally don't store up data on my browser.

You'd probably have cleared up quite a bit of memory by now and bought yourself some time before the data starts to build up again! Hope you enjoyed this post! Cheers~!!

Android: Low on space. Phone storage space is getting low.

This is probably the biggest pain in the ass that we Android users face. I can't really remember the circumstances as I've cleared mine quite awhile back, but it does include problems like not being able to update your apps and logging into your Gmail account to name a few.

The solution? Clearing up your Android's internal memory! Why? Our phone uses it's internal memory as it's RAM therefore the more space there is on the phone the faster it will function (my own theory... no idea if there's any truth to it! LOL!) and the other obvious reasons is removing that irritating icon at the top and being able to access our mail and update our apps in the marketplace.

From my experience, there's only 3 ways worth your time to solve this problem.

1. Rooting your android (Not recommended)
I like to keep things simple and my android is not rooted as well. But yeah, this way we are able to transfer all our data freely from our phone's internal memory and our SD card as well as other benefits which I will not be explaining in detail.

2. Apps2SD (compulsory for all froyo users)

App 2 SD

Just download it from the marketplace. This application is used to transfer movable applications to your SD card easily. The down side? Not all apps can be moved which still uses alot of space.. but it's not a major thing, you'll find out why in the next method.

3. Clearing up unnecessary Contacts Data. (Most effective!)
Our Androids stores up alot of unnecessary contacts data with it's syncing and actually uses up most of the phone's internal memory. Hence clearing it will probably give you an extra 20 to 100++ MB depending on how many contacts you have in your list and the amount of data stored in it.

DON'T WORRY: YOU WON'T LOSE ANY OF YOUR CONTACTS OR THEIR CONTACT DETAILS (e.g. name, phone number, address, email, facebook etc etc etc)

It's been awhile since i've done it and I'll try to remember the steps. So if it work's leave me a comment!

Step 1: Back up
1. Go to All Apps
2. Open People/Contacts
3. Press Menu
4.Click on Import/Export
5. Export to SD card
6. Click Google. *take note of where and the name of your file is for which Google/SIM/Phone*
(it should look like this /sdcard/google_username_000001.vcf)
7. Confirm export - Click OK
8. Repeat steps for SIM and Phone *remember to take note of the file location*

*this step takes quite awhile if you have alot of contacts on your phone

Optional: to be really safe you can backup your contact files to your computer in case anything goes wrong =)

Step 2: Clearing the Contacts Storage
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Applications
3. Go to Manage Applications
4. On the tabs menu click on All
5. Click on Contacts Storage
You will see a large amount of data and storage space used here!
6. Click Clear Data - this will delete your entire contact database so make sure you have done the backup steps or you'll lose all your contacts!

Your data and storage should be at 0.0MB, if it's not you can go to the People application earlier and individually delete all of them to prevent duplicated contacts.

Step 3: Restoring Contacts
1. Go to All Apps
2. Open People/Contacts
3. Press Menu
4. Click on Import/Export
5. Click Import from SD card
6. Click Google
7. Click Import one vCard file
8. Click on the file you've noted down earlier in Step 1
(e.g. google_username_000001.vcf)
9. Repeat for all steps accordingly for Phone.

Step 4: Syncing your Contacts (Optional unless your really need to... cause this will just cause another build up of low storage memory)
1. Go to Settings
2. Click on Accounts & sync
3. Turn on your Auto-sync (this will sync your phone contacts and data with your facebook, google, twitter etc etc.)

Thats it! You will notice that your phone will have ALOT of extra internal memory.

Note: This was written entirely on memory and the author will not be held responsible for any damage occurred or lost of data in your Android. There are more accurate and detailed guides about this on other pages if you want to be safe.

As an ENFP, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in primarily via your intuition. Your secondary mode is internal, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit in with your personal value system.

ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it.

ENFPs have an unusually broad range of skills and talents. They are good at most things which interest them. Project-oriented, they may go through several different careers during their lifetime. To onlookers, the ENFP may seem directionless and without purpose, but ENFPs are actually quite consistent, in that they have a strong sense of values which they live with throughout their lives. ENFPs who have not learned to follow through may have a difficult time remaining happy in marital relationships. Always seeing the possibilities of what could be, they may become bored with what actually is. The strong sense of values will keep many ENFPs dedicated to their relationships. Necessity vs Luxury

Here's a post that has been procrastinated for like a few months... damn procrastination sucks!! Anyway here we go. Does this situation sound familiar?

Person A (Gadget freak): I just got my new iPad! So cheap summo...

Person B (Traditional old fashionist) : necessary meh... I don understand why you waste your money on such things...

Person A: but it's the latest trend! how can you survive without it!! It can do everything... do your home work, work as a tv, play games, keep you organized, use as a brouchure, etc etc etc...

Person B : what for you need this? you have a computer, a tv, hands and legs, an phone already... you just waste too much money on unimportant things...

Hmm.. maybe that's not such a good example... but yeah, my point is everybody's opinion on things are different based on personalities, surroundings, hobbies and interests. In the 20th century, there is no more fixed system. Back then necessity used to be to have food on the table, a roof over our head, clothes to wear and everything else would be a luxury. NOW... times has changed! What may be a luxury to some has become a necessity to others!

Here are some really good examples of things that have become a necessity to some or most but may remain a luxury to others...

1. AIRCOND - I swear i don't think i'll be able to sleep in this Malaysian weather if not for air condititioning...

2. Cars

3. Microwaves

4. INTERNET - Honestly... how many of you think you can survive without the internet?

5. Computers

6. Astro

7. King sized beds

etc etc etc...

Well you get the point there. And caught up in the quick modernization of our "technological" era, some things which used to be necessity has now become obsolete or luxury. Do you remember dial-up internet? Jaring or tmNet? it used to be a luxury and evolved into a necessity for most and has now become obsolete. How bout antic automobiles? Morris Miners? Beatles? Vespa? It was once a necessary and became obsolete and now become a luxury to some collectors.

What i'm trying to get across here is, before you question someone about what their needs are or what is a luxury to them and such, we ourselves have to understand that every person is different in terms of their hobbies, personalities and surroundings. It may seem that your friend wants an iPad for the sake of getting one, but it may be a necessity for his job to enable him to explain to the clients easier or work on the move. Imagine telling Slash that he doesn't need a guitar? Or telling David Beckham that he doesn't need soccer boots...

So don't narrow up your necessities and consider everything else a luxury... If you really have a hobby or interest in something, work hard for it, save up for it and make it your necessity and by making other things your luxury you can differentiate your priorities and are more likely at getting those things you've always wanted. We can't have everything in life, but we can have what we really want.

Are you a nice guy?

Well I came across this interesting read in AskMen.com where they were talking about nice guys. It's pretty true... I know alot of nice guys myself and have also been in that "zone" until i came across "the game". Well frankly there's nothing wrong with being a nice guy, except the fact that you don't get laid, you end out living in your parents basement till you're 30 because everyone steps on you to climb up the social (and corporate) ladder, you have no "real" friends and don't have the guts to take risks and speak your mind in fear of hurting someone or loosing a friend. There's really nothing wrong with it... not to mention that some people can't imagine themselves being known as an ass or having a bad image. Seriously... there's nothing wrong with being in the "friend zone" of the girl you have loved your whole life, while she goes out with an ass that you know will screw her life up... Nope it's not wrong, and therefore you should just not continue reading this post if you're fine with that.

Alright back to business. Frankly I have nothing wrong with nice guys, well other than the fact that their trying to be "nice" all the time. But seriously, I really believe in improving one's self. Everybody should be given an equal chance to fight for their rights and what they believe in. Fixing Unifi!

Alright here's the deal... I just got unifi installed and got all excited over it! Epic!! Went on installing the wireless settings for my laptop, uncle's laptop, brothers laptop... and when it came to my dad's laptop, we couldn't detect the unifi network! After trying and trying and restarting and restarting... things didn't get better... especially it being an old underpowered machine, the startup time takes about 5 to 10 minutes, which frustrated me even more!! Hence...

Yeah... I wish...

Anyway I went ahead and did some research which brought me over to this dude's blog, which reveals some security flaws with unifi. Check it out here! This dude knows all the shit about unifi! Except when it comes to the latest firmware 7.09 for the D-Link router.

Like seriously I spent 3 hours medaling with the shit trying to use it as a bridge to my previous router, but naaaahhhhh... doesnt work with the latest firmware. REMEMBER: ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR SETTINGS BEFORE TRYING ANYTHING!

Well let's cut to the chase... I noticed this on my dad's laptop wireless network center

- The capability of your network adapter does not match the requirements of the network

I figured that it's probably my the computer's network adapter just ain't "canggig" enough to handle N-wireless settings and that I had to buy an external network adapter. Luckily, I'm a cheapskate and don't want to give the tenants of digital mall that hundred bucks or so, therefore I gave it one last search before giving up and I came across this in LYN!

1) Login to http://192.168.0.1/ via a LAN cable.
Username: admin
Password: telekom (the password could be blank)

2) Click "Wireless Setup" on the left-hand menu.

3) Click "Manual Wireless Connection Setup" button.

4) Go to "Wireless Network Global Settings" section.

5) Untick "Enable Auto Channel Selection" checkbox.

6) Set the "Wireless Channel" number to 11.

7) Click "Save Settings" button.

Your router will reboot and it'll take a while, i.e., 2 to 3 minutes.

Once it has come back online, you should be able to detect the wifi and connect to it.

And Waaa-LAaaa!! It works! My dad's computer can now use Unifi!!

The Wingman... possibly the most under rated role in society!

A Wingman is a role that a person may take when a friend needs support with approaching potential partners. A wingman is someone who is on the "inside" and is used to help someone with relationships. There seem to be gender differences such that females' friends help them avoid undesirable potential partners, while males' friends help them attract desirable potential mates.

WARNING: This post is written under the influence of alcohol!

Alright, as simple as it can get, a wingman is someone who takes up a supportive role to support the "gamer" to close "the deal".

Easy right?

HELL NO!!! Wikipedia gives a very vague description saying that a wingman is to assist approaching potential partners. In this case, any idiot or bum from the side of the road can do so. To me, a REAL wingman's job is to create a boost in value to the "gamer" who is approaching the potential partner. In order to do this, the wingman has to have a certain value and selling points himself. Imagine all the butt kissers "helping" the gamer, "oh my gosh, you're from this band" or "hey your shirt is very nice" , yeah it may create some false temporary (did i mention un-impact-ful?) value, but it's nothing to stay.

However, imagine a well dressed person, or someone of authority or position approaching you and complimenting you or having a conversation? Doesn't that mean something more?

A wingman's job isn't as easy as just approaching and complimenting. He has to do a little research about the potential "target", make jokes, remind the "gamer", push him back onto track, take control of the surroundings (example is creating atmosphere by working with the DJ or the bartenders in the club), and everything possible to ensure that that deal is closed. He has to know when to come in and when to leave, the right words to say, not to appear cocky and arrogant, and not to draw too much attention to himself. In reality, a good wingman does 80% of the work while the gamer does 20% which is focused on the target and himself. This will work especially well if the wingman is someone of value, like the resident DJ or a sports celebrity.

Ideally, a wingman is often someone of high confidence, above average looks, dresses well and well aware of how the "game" works. This creates the impression that the people you hang with are of a certain standard and the target will WANT to be in the crowd, hence she WORKS harder to impress the "gamer".

A wingman should always understand the "actual" value of the gamer. He is in control of creating the intended "value" for the gamer. Be it a "false" or "real" value, it stands in the hands of the wingman, as girls often analyse a person by way he reacts to his crowd or surroundings. If a wingman creates a value that is way above the actual value of the gamer, the "relationship" won't last. On the other hand, if the value is too low, the gamer will likely not even score.

Not as easy as it seems eh?

The support role in anything in life has always been under rated. How often has the back end staff of an IT company been published in a magazine or newspaper? How many coaches are recognized for the performance of the team? When do song writers or audio engineers become more famous than the artists?

Yes it is a tough job and everybody wants to stand in the lime light. But somebody has to do it! It's actually alot more fun and gives you alot more perspective towards the "game"! Everyone has a role to play, plan yours out now. Not everyone has to be the star!

Added:

1. A good wingman knows his role and will NEVER cock block the gamer.

2. Analyzes the situation and ensures that the gamer doesn't do anything that may turn the target off.

3. Takes control and steps in when appropriate.

4. Does his homework and advices the gamer accordingly.

5. Will never be in reach of the target and must never outshine the gamer.

Have you ever seen a duck on water? All calm, tranquil, they look like they don't give a *toot*?? Did you know when they swim, their feet are stirring up a storm under water? Yet they remain all "cool" above the surface!! Blardy smart alecs these little buggers...

But think about it? How many of us are like these innocent looking beauties pedaling across the ponds?

It's simple... because in society today, it has become a norm that being "WEAK" is not "COOL". It is very likely that the reason we are not opening up to others and putting on a mask is because we are afraid to be a burden to our friends and family or we're afraid to "kena chop" emo or weak! But yeah, thats the standards of society...

WELCOME TO REALITY!!!

Well my advice to you is continue wearing your mask :)

Today i made a massive change in my life, the future seems blurry and exiled but does that mean that the pasts was better? Sometimes we keep ourselves in a routine that drags us down and changes us to become weak and someone whom we really know that we are not... So... CHANGE IS NOT ACTUALLY A BAD THING! When someone decides to change, he/she finds out what is important or what needs improving, hence amazing things happens! For Example...

A drug addict is able to stop his addiction by his strong will!!

Or a lost or person who has lost hope finds religion and a new light.

Life changing experiences in life may be a difficult decision to make and we often fear it may be the wrong one, but in every dark corner of every event, there is always a bright side of things! So keep your head up, chest out and stomach in, and gather your courage for every step of the way, you'll be meeting new friends who will pull you through every step of the way.

Question: "What is the difference between Catholics and Protestants?"

Answer: There are several very important differences between Catholics and Protestants. While there have been some attempts over the last several years to find common ground between the two groups, the fact is that the differences remain, and they are just as important today as they were at the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. Following is brief summary of some of the more important differences.

One of the first major differences between Catholicism and Protestantism is the issue of the sufficiency and authority of Scripture. Protestants believe that the Bible alone is the sole source of God’s special revelation to mankind, and as such it teaches us all that is necessary for our salvation from sin. Protestants view the Bible as the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured. Many Roman Catholics doctrines, such as purgatory, praying to the saints, worship or veneration of Mary, etc. have little or no basis at all in Scripture, but are based solely on Roman Catholic traditions. Essentially the Roman Catholic Church’s denial of “Sola Scriptura” and their insistence that both the Bible and their “Sacred Tradition” are equal in authority undermines the sufficiency, authority and completeness of the Bible. The view of Scripture is at the root of many of, if not all, the differences between Catholics and Protestants.

Another major but closely related difference between Catholicism and Protestantism is over the office and authority of the Pope. According to Catholicism the Pope is the “Vicar of Christ” (a vicar is a substitute), and takes the place of Jesus as the visible head of the Church. As such he has the ability to speak “ex cathedra” (with authority on matters of faith and practice), and when he does so his teachings are considered infallible and binding upon all Christians. On the other hand, Protestants believe that no human being is infallible, and that Christ alone is the head of the church. Catholics rely on apostolic succession as a way of trying to establishing the Pope’s authority. But Protestants believe that the church’s authority does not come from apostolic succession, but instead is derived from the Word of God. Spiritual power and authority does not rest in the hands of a mere man, but in the very Word of God recorded in Scripture. While Catholicism teaches that only the Catholic Church can properly and correctly interpret the Bible, Protestants believe that the Bible teaches that God sent the Holy Spirit to indwell all born again believers, enabling all believers to understand the message of the Bible.

This is clearly seen in passages such as John 14:16-17: “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” (See also John 14:26 and 1 John 2:27). While Catholicism teaches that only the Roman Catholic Church has the authority and power to interpret the Bible, Protestantism acknowledges the biblical doctrine of the priesthood of all believers, and that individual Christians can trust the Holy Spirit for guidance in reading and interpreting the Bible for themselves.

A third major difference between Catholicism and Protestantism is how one is saved. Another of the “Five Solas” of the reformation was “Sola Fide” (faith alone), which affirms the biblical doctrine of justification by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-10). However, according to Roman Catholicism, man cannot be saved by faith alone in Christ alone. They teach that the Christian must rely on faith plus “meritorious works” in order to be saved. Essential to the Roman Catholic doctrine of salvation are the Seven Sacraments, which are: baptism, confirmation, the Eucharist, Penance, anointing of the sick, Holy Orders, and matrimony. Protestants believe that on the basis of faith in Christ alone, believers are justified by God as all their sins are paid for by Christ on the cross and His righteousness is imputed to them. Catholics on the other hand believe that Christ’s righteousness is imparted to the believer by “grace through faith,” but in itself is not sufficient to justify the believer. The believer must “supplement” the righteousness of Christ imparted to him with meritorious works.

Catholics and Protestants also disagree on what it means to be justified before God. To the Catholic, justification involves being made righteous and holy. They believe that faith in Christ is only the beginning of salvation, and that the individual must build upon that with good works because “man has to merit God’s grace of justification and eternal salvation.” Of course this view of justification contradicts the clear teaching of Scripture in passages such as Romans 4:1-12; Titus 3:3-7, as well as many others. On the other hand, Protestants distinguish between the one time act of justification (when we are declared righteous and holy by God based on our faith in Christ’s atonement on the cross), and sanctification (the ongoing process of being made righteous that continues throughout our lives on earth.) While Protestants recognize that works are important, they believe they are the result or fruit of salvation, but never the means to it. Catholics blend justification and sanctification together into one ongoing process, which leads to confusion about how one is saved.

A fourth major difference between Catholics and Protestants has to do with what happens after men die. While both believe that unbelievers will spend eternity in hell, there is significant and important differences as to what happens to believers. From their church traditions and their reliance of non-canonical books, the Catholics have developed the doctrine of purgatory. Purgatory, according to the Catholic Encyclopedia, is a “place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in God’s grace are, not entirely free from venial faults, or have not fully paid the satisfaction due to their transgressions.” On the other hand, Protestants believe that because we are justified by faith in Christ alone, and that Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us – when we die we will go straight to heaven to be in the presence of the Lord (Corinthians 5:6-10 and Philippians 1:23).

Yet even more disturbing about the Catholic doctrine of purgatory is the fact that they believe that man must or even can pay or make satisfaction for his own sins. This along with their misunderstanding of what the Bible teaches about how man is justified before God, results in a low view of the sufficiency and efficiency of Christ’s atonement on the cross. Simply put, the Roman Catholic viewpoint on salvation implies that Christ’s atonement on the cross was not sufficient payment for the sins of those who believe in Him, and that even a believer must atone or pay for his own sins, either through acts of penance, or time in purgatory. Yet the Bible teaches over and over again that it is Christ’s death alone that can satisfy or propitiate God’s wrath against sinners (Romans 3:25; Hebrews 2:17; 1 John 2:2; 1 John 4:10). Our works of righteousness cannot add to what Christ has already accomplished.

While there are numerous other differences between what Catholics and Protestants believe, these four should be adequate to establish that there are serious differences between the two. In much the same way as the Judiziers (Jews who said that Gentile Christians had to obey the Old Testament law to be saved) that Paul wrote about in Galatians, Catholics, by making works necessary for one to be justified by God, end up with a completely different gospel. The differences between Catholicism and evangelical Protestants are important and significant.

It is our prayer that God will open up the eyes of anyone reading this article who is putting their faith or trust in the teachings of the Catholic Church. It is our hope that everyone will understand and believe that their “works of righteousness’ cannot justify them, or sanctify them (Isaiah 64:6). It is our prayer that all will instead put their faith solely in the fact that we are “justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed as a propitiation in His blood through faith.” (Romans 3:24-25). God saves us, “not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:5-7).

JoanSoft - Daily Bible

I particularly like this application because of it's daily bible verse that updates at a time that you set. There's nothing better than waking up to the Word of God. Another feature that I enjoy about the Daily Bible is the "Play" button where the application will actually read the verses to you.

- This app also provides a home screen widget where it can show your daily verse on your home screen.

- The Daily Bible also have a devotions section as well as "Devotional Audio Podcasts" which can come in pretty handy in times when you need encouragement.

It's about the company

Here's a short post :) Lately, I've been hanging out with some people I really enjoy spending time with and it has really helped me pick myself up! Don't get me wrong, I do treasure the time hanging out with my best friends but often enough, we don't share the same interest and most of the time just end out joking each other and talking bout our daily life and how stressful it is and what not. This is not exactly a bad thing... but if you think about it, what are we really talking about? I think it's more for the support and the company that we know that our best are there for us and that we trust them to pour our hearts out and borrow their shoulders. Plus we've known each other for so long that we have run out of crap and bull to tell each other. Ha~!

Now the company that i'm referring to here is a different group of people. These are people who share some common interests or similar situations as me, I find this a really enjoyable time. For example, a few days back I met up with a LONG LOST friend as in like REALLY LONG, and though we barely know each other, we are still able to catch up over a beer and talk like as though no time has passed. Or when I went out with another friend yesterday (although it was only two of us guys, looking like losers in the middle of a packed pub/restaurant) it was really an enjoyable time and I learnt so much from that one night alone. I guess hanging out with the right company reminds you of who you are and who you can be? What do you think about this?

The Trains

One day there was a passenger who wanted to take a train, so he went to the ticket counter and bought his ticket. When he went to the terminal there were 4 trains, so he decided to check them out one by one.

When he went to the first train he saw that there were no tracks in front of the train. He thought to himself, "This train will not go anywhere as it has no direction" and so he proceeded to another terminal.

At the second terminal, he saw that the train hadn't arrive, he waited a long while before saying, "This train will probably never arrive its destination and by the time it does, I will most probably not be here anymore". Hence he went to the next terminal.

The train at the third terminal looked good and was waiting for the passengers to board, so he got on it and the train started to move, when it did start moving, the ride became very bumpy and he noticed that the train was going around in circles and was burning out very quickly. He got off when the train reached the same station it started at, when he got down, he saw the train was tired out and old.

Now the last train was the most beautiful train he had ever seen and instantly fell in love with it. He boarded the train and it was clean with well arranged seats, nice enough to host a king. The passenger comfortably sat himself in one of the sofa seat and the train began to move. The journey began smooth and the passenger was happy, but days passed and the passenger began feeling hungry and thirsty, he looked for the stewards or the driver but there were none. The train was just moving without any stops and was going through the roughest of terrains just barely making the journey a little smoother, but without the service or supplements, the passenger soon began loosing his mind and was consumed by the train ride and the journey...

Have you come across this notification when you're trying to update your apps from the Android Market?

Well it's been happening to me since I updated my software to froyo 2.2. on my HTC Aria. After going through some forums, I've found the solution to the problem which has worked well for me.

Here are some step by step instructions to fix this problem:-

Step 1:-

Connect phone to the pc using the USB cable and change the connection type to "Disk Drive" (Mount as disk drive)

Step 2:-

Open the phone's directory on your computer.

Step 3:-

Open the folder ".android_secure"

Step 4:-

Delete the file "smdl2tmp1.asec".

Step 5:-
Unmount your phone and wait for the apps to reload, it usually takes only a few mins and you'll find that you will be able to update your apps again.

Every once in awhile i drop by my quiet blog just to see if anything has changed... and every once in awhile I always tell myself that I will post a new entry... once again as you can see... it hasn't been done :(

Well, today I'm going to rant about how humans are humans...

I think we all know how we are always unsatisfied and unappreciative about the things that we have, well how can we be, it's only human! We always want to receive more than we give and expect things to go according to how we want it to be, and we always expect people who care about us to sit in our personal locker room and wait for our whole performance to be done with. In one way we can say that this is kind of hypocritical. For example, especially in Malaysia, we can't stand people being late but, as often as possible, we are arriving at meet ups half an hour late and expect it to be fine. Welcome SUPERSTAR mentality.

It seems as though we are the centre of gravity and everything else revolves around us. When will we ever be "happy" or "satisfied"? The rich wants to get richer, the successful wants fame, we want more and more and MORE, when will we be content and appreciate what God has placed here in our hands? Right now, i'm contented with what I have, but am I happy? Well the truth is, I'm really not... I do want more and expect more...

Millions of guitarists murdered around the world, Guitar Pro suspected!

Now I remember what I wanted to write about today! Have you ever head of the program called guitar pro? It is basically a program that helps guitarists learn up songs by providing tabs and midi tracks to play along with. It's actually a rather awesome program that have helped millions of guitarists around the globe and helped many bands that you've seen performing live learn up their cover songs. It has even taught some musicians new tricks and how to read notes... sounds like a blardy damn good program to me, don't ya think? Than whats the big deal and why are you contradicting yourself with the title of the post? Should I even continue reading this crap?

YES! Guitar pro is a blardy damn awesome program! YES! I am contradicting my self wit the title of the post! and YES! Guitar pro is killing our damn guitarists of the generation!

Well I say this is because, many guitarist now-a-days (myself included) rely too much on tabs and guitar pro to learn up songs from the internet. It makes the guitarist lazy and unable to adapt to the changes that happen in a live surrounding. Guitarists from the good ol' days are able to catch a key, note or melody of a song just by listening and learn practice for days to uncover every aspect of the song. I tell you the truth, most guitarist learn the song directly from Guitar Pro without actually even hearing the real song!! Hard to believe? Well BELIEVE IT!!

By overly relying on guitar pro, or tablatures for that matter, a guitarist is likely to fall behind on the following aspects:-

1. adaptability - During a live performance, not everything goes according to plan and many guitarists may find it problematic to do things like transposing to a different key or may even get lost in a song.

2. rhythm - this is not something that a few numbers on lines can teach you. Rhythm of the strumming and adapting to the bands sound is something that takes alot of practice and listening to the actual song.

3. Clarity - most guitar pro guitarists are rather sloppy in their fingering as they lack technique, something that can be practiced through hours of finger excercises.

4. Versatility - guitarists may find it difficult to blend into a band as most songs performed by bands are usually tweeked to the band members preference, like changes to the song or the tempo.

5. Personality - probably the most important aspect of being a guitarist! When you learn from a moving digital pointer on the screen, you probably wont be able to develop a sound that distinctfy you as you're trying to sound so much like a midi tape...

Therefore, be a convert like me and start doing things the proper way! Heroes like Eric Clapton, John Mayer or Eric Johnson don't become superstar guitarists by guitar pro or tabs! They work their asses off everyday on their guitars!!

I have seen the light! How do I convert?

Well I only have two tips, Listen and Practice!

Just start off with some finger excercises to get your fingering and technique right! Than listen to your favorite songs and try to catch the rhythm and flow, and with the guitar in your hand try to find the chord progression or riffs that is used! Just give it a go, and you wont regret it :)

Weddings?? Funerals?? Still got money for TV???

As the year comes to a close, I've got friends who are complaining that business aint so good this time of the year, which I found rather interesting. I seem to be going through a hell of a hectic time at work and business is shooting up like crazy, well I guess people are turning to be more self and health conscious as time flies us by. One of my bestie, who works in the electronic appliance line told me that regardless of his road show and all, the sales of TVs hasn't been that great... I came up with a theory for that which he entirely rejected and thought I was crapping.

Alright here was my theory, short and simple:-

Haven't you noticed how there are so many funerals and weddings this year in particular? I'm not sure about you guys, but I've had at least 5 or 6 friends I know who got married this year or these few months actually... and it saddens me also that there have been so many passings this time round as well, be it friends relative or a friend in particular or a distant relative or someone who stays near you... but I guess thats how the cycle of life goes, only God knows the bigger plan! So back to the theory... Well with all these weddings and funerals going on, who got so much money to spend on ten thousand dollar tvs anymore??

Think about it, I was talking to my customer, who happens to be a Nirvana Agent, he told me that a simple Christian funeral can cost you around RM12k excluding the grave, and it costs more for a chinese funeral with all the *tong changs* and ceremonial monks and everything... what's more expensive than dying? being sick, imagine a surgery to remove a tumor can easily cost around THIRTY THOUSAND!!! I figured thats why my business in the health line is going up as people tend to become more health conscious. I always share this statement with my customers, "You have to be rich to be sick", and that is no joke! The costs of medical bills are going up by the year and the number of people getting sick is also ascending! Even insurance coverage can only cover you so much based on you premium... therefore prevention is better than cure when it comes to your health!

On the other hand, I recall having a conversation with some of my friends, over chicken wings, about the costs of getting married... gosh if you are planning to marry a girl, you better be ready to put aside some savings - for a dowry to give to the bride's family, a traditional BIG DINNER (which you would eventually get back about half or more from the ang paus), Honey moon, photoshoot, video shoot, dress, etc etc etc... - it all adds up to a large sum which I cannot imagine yet! Well, I've got nothing against this, as I do want to get married in the future but maybe not such a traditional in-the-church kind of marriage, maybe something more exciting like a simple marriage by the beach or underwater or in the sky, but yeah we'll see how that goes. Well back to topic! Yeah!! after spending like tens of thousands for these ceremonies and all, "where got ppl still got money to buy tv oh tai lo... all the pocket all pancit edi oh!!!" <---- me telling my friend in a very china man tone...

Therefore, a word of encouragement to my young friends, start investing and saving because when the time comes for you to get married (or go), it's gonna costs you some big bucks!!

Well... I was having a conversation about with my mom over breakfast and was talking about how Maybank was deducting money for every few withdrawals I made, and her being a mother obviously started telling me how I didn't know how to save and that I was wasting money on my music equipment... Well I can't deny that I do put aside a specific amount of money for my music equipment every month (which mostly goes to Music Master, THE BEST DAMN MUSIC SHOP IN THE COUNTRY!! (Damien,2010)), but I live a simple life.. I am damn cheapskate when it comes to food, I dont buy clothes, I seldom go for movies, I barely shop... so yeah... What I'm trying to say is, everybody have their "cravings" or "needs/wants" based on their hobbies or interests.

Get it?? Let me give you some examples:
1. Girls + Shopping

2. Gadget Geeks + Latest Gadgets

3. The Car Collectors + Cars

Yeah! you get the idea... So it's not wrong for us (musicians) to have our own desire! Everybody has their own definition of sexy, have you ever felt that that girl that you saw make your heart skip a beat or get an eraction (or whichever comes first)?? Well thats what we get when we see a guitar that catches our eye or a perfect distortion that gives you that orgasmic feeling?? Okay... maybe thats abit over, but YOU GOTTA TRY TO UNDERSTAND OUR G.A.S.!!!

WTF is G.A.S.????

"Most of us guitarists suffer from an affliction called GAS – Gear Acquisition Syndrome. That means we are buying gear nearly compulsively – more and more often than we really need." (Guitar Noise, 2010).

You are probably thinking what the hack is going through our head when we buy this stuff compulsively...

Here's a number of reasons:-

I sound bad, I suck! Remedy? A new amp/guitar/effect will help me get the sound I’m hearing in my head!
I want to sound like Santana, so I’ll buy a PRS Santana, a Mesa Boogie amp, a Fender amp and a couple of effects. One year later, my Santana days are over and now Steve Vai is my hero. That means, I’ll get an Ibanez Universe guitar, the Carvin Steve Vai amp and an Eventine harmonizer.
I want to be as versatile and flexible as I can, I want a huge variety of different sounds because I play/enjoy a lot of different styles, play in a Top 40 band, or I’m a studio musician. Thus, I need a Telecaster and a Fender Twin for playing country, a Les Paul and a Marshall for rock and a Gibson ES335 and a Roland Jazz chorus for jazz.
I just like guitars and gear – I collect them.

What I'm trying to say is, IT IS NOT A CRIME to crave for that "perfect" sound that matches our mood. And as musicians we're very emotional people (no joke) that the sound is actually affected by the state that we're in... so the remedy is?? Drop by our favorite music shop, spend a couple of hundred bucks and ask the owner to belanja you BBQ chicken!! Ta-Da!! I'M CURED (for a week)

Also as we improve our skills, naturally we want something better or when we change influences we would love to sound more like that particular artists or sound... Unfortunately, we end up with tons of guitars/cables/pedals/racks/amps/boxes/everything lying around the house :(

gTalk isn't opening and market place is not downloading apps...

Lately my phone hasn't been able to download or update apps from the market place and I found it weird, but not enough to get me all hyped up and all worried about that the phone was broken, I figured it must have been some connection problem or something wrong with the market place. A few days later, I got some complaints that I did not reply my gTalk from my friends whom we keep in touch with Google Talk, now this I found it a little weird and when I tried to check my gTalk, the strangest thing happened...

When I clicked on the app, the screen flickered like as if the app was going open and after about a second or so it just goes back to the previous screen, I tried checking the app settings and I found that gTalk was actually running in the background... Now I'm no tech geek or anything but of course i did try restarting the phone and everything the normal person would try, but it still didnt work... so like the person I am.. an semi-app junkie, I figured that I could use one app to replace this app temporarilly, *note* gmail was working fine on my phone and i could use gTalk on my computer... But to my surprise, I just couldnt download anything, as mentioned before... I did however notice that my phone was low on memory, so i decided to free up some space and see if it'll work! As expected, the apps began downloading and updating again!

Today, I noticed that my gTalk wasn't working again and I read through some forums and google tech support, and to my surprise I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE FACING THIS PROBLEM!! It was actually quite a common problem among android phones *darn*... It seems that our gTalk account has some link with the market place that enables us to download the apps... without being able to open the gTalk, we will not be able to download apps... *sucks right*

So the temporary solution is....

Whenever you face this problem, you have to free up some space and everything will work as normal again!!

and pray that

FROYO - Android 2.2. will be updated onto your phone so that you can install apps to sd which will not use up so much of the internal memory!

I was thinking over lunch of what I read from Clement's blog, and it occurred to me on the matter of the AMOG. In every group, there will be 3 types of people:-

1. The Natural Leaders - These are the people who naturally walk in front and everybody likes, the others in the group will naturally follow what he say and will be Mr. Popular. This is usually the Alpha Male of the group.

2. The 2nd in Command - Every leader needs his assistance, this guy takes the role of leader when The Natural Leader is not around. He is also probably the only person whom will stand up to what The Natural Leader says or whom the Natural Leader will consider listening to and have a "deep conversation" with. However the downside of this position is you'll have many haters cause everybody want's to be "closer" to the leader in the group, hence most those in this category are usually singled out by the people in the group.

3. The Other - These are the YES MEN whom suck up the the Natural Leader and who cant or dare not do anything on their own.

But I'm not here to judge anyone... today I'm talking about the Alpha Male.

WELL..... There is a very fine line between an...

ALPHA MALE and being A COMPLETE ASSHOLE!!!!!

I've came across my fair share of people around, with different personalities and from different backgrounds.

This is a common beta male trait and they often start a fight whether verbal or physical just to prove to women that they are better than others. Alpha males know that they are smarter and better than others and they don't need to prove it. They feel secure enough that they don't have to try and please other people instantly.

You have to consider that not all successful males today are that smart. They just know how to act like one and this is one of the many alpha male traits. Always remember that you should never try and impress other people by doing things that are way out of your league.

Instead, try to always be confident and relaxed. By being like this, you will see that you will attract more women as you will be like a very powerful male even without trying.

As you can see, being the alpha male doesn't mean that you need to impress someone and prove yourself. Instead, being the alpha male means that you should be confident and secure enough that you will never have to prove that you are better than anyone else. You know that you are better and you should never be bossy.

So, if you want to become the alpha male, always remember that the first step is by getting rid of the beta male traits and characteristics and you can begin learning the ways of the alpha male.

These are just some of the tips that you need to remember about becoming the alpha male. You have to remember that confidence is the key. Always be relaxed in any situations and simple lead a laid back life and you can be sure that women will be attracted to you.

This is a very common thing you can see "Alpha Male" wannabes failing to do. Most of these people always try to show off how their better than others and criticize others weaknesses to make themselves look good. As an Alpha Male, you should know that you are the best and act the role, not compete against the Beta males and look like a fool. Like the Simpsons movie said, "take a 100 strong men and a 100 weak men to make the strong men look stronger".

5. Knowing how to act like one - should never try to impress others by doing things that are out of their league
As mentioned above we have to start acting the role, but we also have to KNOW how to act the role or we may end out looking like idiots. I'm sure you have came across some showy people who always say "I can do this" "I can do that" "that person lousy la, I can do better" but once you ask them to do it, they just cant... So it's better to be honest to yourself and avoid the humiliation. * It's okay to tell the jokes, but avoid BEING the joke *

Well anyway I'm not here to judge anyone but to share my point of view on the matter, it's just that I have some people around me that try too hard at being an Alpha Male that have lost sight of reality. It's really sad that I can sometimes see people laughing at them behind their back especially when these people are close to me. But we all fall into some of these categories once in awhile as well, so do not be afraid to remind your BRO when you feel things are getting out of hand, and do take time to reflect on yourself once in awhile!

Guys and girl... Interesting specimens

I'll just screw the introduction as i have started and ended too many blogs before to give a damn with a welcoming speech or introduction of the purpose of this blog. Well to keep things short, its just a place for me to express myself when i feel and need to :)

Anyway was hanging out with some buddies at Music Master and having a talk and an interesting topic came up about women. Well the fact is, ordinary men are not naturally made to understand women, and in most cases just gets blown away by women for being too direct or taking the wrong approach... I'm sure you GUYS know what I'm talking about...

Well what i found interesting is that one of the buddies was a natural at the game of boy-girl relationship (though he wasn't actually in the relationship). What I mean is like he knows exactly how to be frank and firm in his approach to the girl and bring her for the roller coaster ride, and know when to back out before he overstayed his "visa", WITHOUT ACTUALLY KNOWING that he is playing his cards RIGHT. It has made me realized that there are guys who are naturally able to understand and adapt to the wants and needs of the girl by making them feel comfortable without trying...

Unfortunately for guys like me (and most others in fact) we have to work our asses off to actually get the girl to look our way. Here are some tips that will help you guys to stand a chance of even have a go at that girl that you desire, if not it is also good characteristics to build bout yourself:-

1) GROOMING!! - C'mon guys!! dont go walking around in your underpants or sleeping clothes... go get a nice haircut, maintain a clean image and wear clothes that fits and matches you! Girls dont want to be seen walking around the mall with a person who just got off work from the morning market...

2) Self Confidence - Fake it till you make it!! Men were made to be the head of the house (some may not agree on this), but it is important to be confident, not only around women but also in your jobs,homes and whatever you do... *Note: Self Confident is different from being overly-confident and cocky

3) Be Yourself - Eventually the girl will find out that you are not Steve Jobs long lost son... The truth will come out over time, so be sure of who you are and improve on the flaws that you think is bringing you down.

4) Give and Take - It is obvious that you and your partner do not have a 100% match on your point of views and leisure activities. Don't expect your girl to sit in the jamming room listening to you and your boys blasting on your instruments when she can't stand loud noises. Also make the effort to have some interests in the things she enjoy like perhaps shopping or shoes!

5) Listen - Always listen to what the girl has to say, try not to interrupt or prove her wrong in the middle of her sentence. If you have a point of view on the matter, wait until she ends her sentence before sharing. Who knows she might open up your mind to a new perspective on the matter.

6) Don't be over pushy or clingy - If a girl says no, ask for a reconfirmation and its a no it means NO! Don't push her off the bridge to do a bungee jump if she doesn't want to. On the other hand, give her some space to do her things and don't put a short leash on her that she gets choked.

7) Make the effort - Getting the girl is not the end of the game, it's only just beginning!! Have fun, play games, enjoy each others company, go ahead an surprise her on random occasions or get her something gifts for special events. Its okay to be romantic once in awhile regardless of what your bros think.

8) Don't let her walk all over you/ Mutual respect - At the end of the day, the man is still he head of the house and there has to be a mutual respect between the girl and the guy. So if there is something that you feel uncomfortable that the girl is doing, dont be afraid to talk it out and come to a solution that both parties are able to agree on.
